These can differ depending on whether you are purchasing an ongoing property. For the sake of this post however i will be going through what you will have to pay for when purchasing a property.
Lawyer Fees
Same as purchasing a property you will have to pay for a lawyer to act on your behalf for the sale of the property. They are responsible for sorting and sending all relevant information on your property to the purchasers lawyers and then acting on your behalf on any queries.
Agent Fees
If you have instructed an agent to sell your property then you will have to pay the fee once the property has transacted. Not before. Again fees will differ depending on the agent.
That’s it! These are the fees that will always be charged and they will be taken out the proceeds of your sale by the lawyers that you instruct. This does not meant that you will not have to pay for anything else. For example you may have to pay for removals, or some renegotiating may occur which means you have to help pay for a survey. If you have instructed a good agent however they will keep you informed of anything like that if and when they come up so they are not a shock.
